Growing up in the country town of Dalby in the Western Downs region of QLD, Riley Young spent his early years on farms with his parents and two younger brothers, they spent weekends travelling through outback QLD to camp drafts. With hours spent on the road travelling, Riley was listening to the greats like Brooks and Dunn and Randy Travis for as long as he can remember. Riley played music all throughout his school years and hit the stage for the very first time at just 14 years of age and from that moment on Riley’s future was set.
In 2018, Riley graduated from high school working full time and further developing his guitar skills in every spare moment he had, which lead to him getting huge opportunities like performing with Australian favourites like Mick Lindsay, James Johnston and announced in many large artist lineups. In mid 2019 Young was presented with the opportunity to be the opening act on Australia Country Favourite Mick Lindsay’s national tour, where he would sing on stage for the very first time, playing at over 70 venues in three months.
With his passion for music fuelled by these money can’t buy experiences and his idols like Kings of Leon and Keith Urban, Riley has been non-stop working on his music career ever since. He further developed his skill set, putting together a 3 hour show whether it be with his high energy band or his intimate solo show incorporating acoustic and electric guitars paired with his stomp box and killer vocals, Young is the new favourite for events & festivals all over Australia.
Whilst focused on writing his own music and further developing his sound that Young describes as Country/Soft Rock, he now has a large catalogue of ready to release music that is set to take the industry by storm. He has been playing at some of Australia’s largest events like Weetwood, Boulia Camel Races, Mt Isa Rodeo Sponsors Tent, Backroad Bash Music Festival, Meatstock Festival, various race & rodeo meets to just name a few.
